Amendments

  1. Election Tie-Breaker (Executive members’ post): In case of a tie, preference will be given to (i) earlier life membership, (ii) MD Microbiology seniority. If still unresolved, re-election will be required.
  2. Financial Assistance: Up to ₹5,000 for small-scale and ₹10,000 for large-scale activities (max 5 each per year). Prior approval mandatory; reimbursement only on bills. EC reserves the right to approve/deny.
  3. Cooling-off Period: 3 years for re-election to the same post; no restriction for other posts.
  4. Pre-conference Visits: Travel fare to be borne by IAMM-RC; stay by Host institution.
  5. Call for Papers: Submissions for awards (Dr H.N. Mangal award for published papers) due by 31st May; evaluated as per National Body norms. Awards at conference valedictory.
  6. Joint Treasurer Post: Dissolved; seat merged with Executive Members.
  7. Next Conference Applications: Expression of interest to Secretary at least 1 month in advance; details to be presented at GBM.
  8. Life Membership Fee: Revised from ₹3,000 to ₹5,000 w.e.f. April 2026. Student fee unchanged.
  9. Joint Secretary Nomination: Secretary empowered to nominate Joint Secretary for better coordination.
  10. Equal Rights of Members: All life members have equal rights irrespective of Department/location. Executive members from Dept. of Tropical Medicine also have equal rights and may contest for any post. But the Conference will always be conducted under the banner of IAMM-RC.
  11. Effective Date of Amendments: All new rules or amendments will take effect from the date of the meeting in which they are passed, without waiting for formal registration.
  12. Resignation for Contesting Another Post: Any office bearer wishing to contest for another post must first resign from their current position.
  1. Election Oversight: An Election Officer from outside the EC (for online elections) will be appointed each time to oversee elections. Nominee names will be shared in advance.
  2. Tenure Limit: Office bearers may serve for a maximum of six years; after which they must step down to allow new candidates.
  3. Incidental Vacancies: In case of vacancies among office bearers, the President may appoint a senior EC member to hold charge until the next election, as per IAMM (National Body) constitution.

Amendments

The following amendments are being incorporated in the constitution of the IAMM RC vide decisions taken in General Body Meetings

1. Posts and Executive Members (w.e.f. October 9, 2022)

– Introduction of two new posts: Joint Secretary and Joint Treasurer.

– The association will now have 6 office bearers and 11 executive members.

2. Tenure of Working Council (w.e.f. October 9, 2022)

  • – President: 1 year
  • – Vice President: 1 year
  • – Secretary: 3 years
  • – Joint Secretary: 3 years
  • – Executive Committee Member: 3 years

3. Presentation of Audited Accounts (w.e.f. October 6, 2023)

– The Treasurer will present the audited accounts statements during the preconference Executive Committee (EC) meeting for approval.

– The approved audited statement will subsequently be presented before the General Body Meeting (GBM) for final approval.

4. Tenure Conclusion (w.e.f. October 6, 2023)

– The tenure of all office bearers (after finishing of tenure) will end during the conference when the GBM takes place.

– This rule does not apply to the Treasurer, who will continue to follow the accounts until the end of the financial year, i.e., on 31st March, after completing three years.

5. Newsletter Publication (w.e.f. October 6, 2023)

– The IAMM RC newsletter will be published biannually.

6. Awards for Best Paper Publication (w.e.f. October 6, 2023)

– Award by Association: Best oral paper.

– Dr. H. N. Mangal Award: Best published scientific paper in two categories, above 50 years of age and below 50 years of age. Each award will include a certificate and a memento/plaque/medal.

7. Raj Microcon Conference Supervision (w.e.f. October 6, 2023)

– Conference activities will be supervised by three members of IAMM-RC as per suggestions of the President – IAMM RC.

– The organizing secretary will finalize all aspects of the conference in consultation with these three members.

8. Conference Contribution to Corpus (w.e.f. October 6, 2023)

– 10% of the total conference collection or a minimum of Rs. 50,000/- must be contributed to the corpus of IAMM RC.
