President’s Message – IAMM Rajasthan Chapter

Dear Members,
Greengs !
It is both a privilege and an honour to serve as the President of the IAMMRajasthan Chapter (IAMM‑RC). I express my hearelt gratude to all members for the confidence and trust reposed in me. I also take this opportunity to acknowledge the remarkable leadership of Dr. S. K. Singh, whose vision and dedication laid the foundation for our inaugural newsletter and strengthened the academic spirit of our chapter.
It gives me immense pleasure to present the second edition of our newsletter. More than a compilation of activities, this publication reflects the vibrant academic culture of our fraternity. It serves as a platform for sharing knowledge, encouraging scientific dialogue, and celebrating the collective achievements of microbiologists across Rajasthan in the rapidly evolving field of Clinical Microbiology.
As we continue to build momentum, our vision remains focused on strengthening the practice and impact of Clinical Microbiology. We aim to promote a syndromic and patient-centered diagnostic approach, reinforce diagnostic and antimicrobial stewardship practices, and integrate rapid turnaround technologies into routine microbiological services. These efforts are essential for optimizing microbial usage, combating microbial resistance (AMR) and ultimately improving paent out comes.
Equally important is our commitment to empowering the next generation of microbiologists. Through mentorship, scientific presentations, CMEs, workshops and academic interactions, we strive to nurture learning opportunities and professional growth for residents and young faculty members.
I am also proud to share the release of the first Annual AMR Surveillance Report of Rajasthan State, which marks a significant milestone in our collective efforts toward surveillance, awareness, and evidence‑based antimicrobial policies.
Another landmark event on our academic calendar is RAJMICROCON 2026, the 5th Annual State Chapter Conference, to be hosted by the Department of Microbiology, Mahatma Gandhi Medical College & Hospital, Jaipur. The conference theme, “Diagnostics to Decision꞉ Expanding Horizons of Clinical Microbiology,” highlights the evolving and indispensable role of microbiologists in patient care, microbial stewardship, infection prevention, and public health. I warmly invite all members to participate in this enriching scientific gathering and look forward to welcoming you to an academically stimulating and memorable conference.
I extend my sincere appreciation to the Editorial Team for their dedication and hard work in bringing out this edition of the newsletter. Together, with continued enthusiasm and collaboration, let us strive to achieve new milestones for our specialty and our association.
With warm regards,
Dr. Rajni Sharma
President, IAMM Rajasthan Chapter
